Why are neoprene wetsuits difficult to put on?
Pulling on a neoprene wetsuit may seem like a difficult task especially for those who have never worn one. Neoprene wetsuits must fit tightly to prevent water from coming in as you swim. If the wetsuit fits loosely you will feel colder and will also be more likely to experience chaffing since the wetsuit will shift as you swim. *see our tips on how to put on a wetsuit!
I feel my muscles working out differently when swimming with a neoprene wetsuit. Is this normal?
If you're just getting started swimming in open water with a wetsuit, you may feel your muscles working differently than usual because the sleeves provide your arms with greater buoyancy and therefore it takes more effort to plunge your arms into the water with each stroke. This feeling will go away on its own after a few sessions.
