How to choose your back country skis?
The equation that needs to be solved: finding a balance between lightness when ascending and skiability when descending.
2 major areas > Touring:
The skis are evenly balanced between ascent and descent (50%/50 %), they are versatile and very often used for long-distance touring over several days.
> Free - Back-country:
New trend, wider skis with good skiability in all types of snow.
60 % descent/40 % ascent.
Sidecuts
Corresponds to the width of the ski in millimetres in the spatula, in the brake (under the shoe), in the heel.
The sidecuts evolve according to the size in the same model.
The sidecuts affect the behaviour of the skis.
Radius
It indicates the """"theoretical"""" radius of the curve that the ski can perform.
The shorter the radius, the higher the performance of the ski in sharp turns.
Assembly of Fastenings
To be assembled using Dynafit Speed Turn 2.0 fastenings for improved lightness.
To be assembled using Dynafit Radical ST 92 fastenings for improved safety (stop ski) and better distribution of support
Knives
Fit with Dynafit 80 mm knives
