How can I be sure of the strength and robustness of my Decathlon ski trousers?
Our snowboard trousers are guaranteed for 5 years. We offer repairs locally if your trousers are damaged. Contact us on our website to find out more about how to get your product repaired.
We take particular care in choosing all the elements and assembly processes that make up our ski and snowboard trousers so they are as robust as possible.
Can I be sure my men's snowboarding salopettes will protect me well in bad weather?
For braving bad weather (rain, snow, wind etc.), these men's snowboarding salopettes have been developed with a waterproof material and a design that stops water getting through and reduces the effects of the wind. We have spent a few days snowboarding and carried out tests over long periods, in all conditions, to validate the waterproofing of the product.
Why is water-repellency needed for my salopettes?
The water-repellent feature makes water run off the fabric without seeping in thanks to a treatment applied to its outer surface. The fabric does not soak up water and stays light and warm. This treatment must be during the life of the product, after 2 to 3 washes on average, using the products available in our stores. All the waterproof trousers that we design for snowboarders are water-repellent.
Water often gets in through the seams. Do my salopettes have waterproof seams?
As well as the waterproof fabric, we enhance the waterproofing of the salopettes with taped seams. These are heat-bonded waterproof strips placed on the seams inside the clothing to make it perfectly watertight. All seams are taped on the entire skiing outfit?
"Coated" trousers: what are the advantages of this coating?
A breathable coating is a coating applied to a fabric in the form of a paste or liquid which creates a protective film. The breathable coating is a waterproof barrier that lets through water vapour produced by the body when snowboarding.
How will my salopettes keep me warm?
To keep you warm, we use faux-down wadding insulation. Wadding is a synthetic component made from polyester which stores more or less air, depending on the length of the fibres. Wadding can be standard, hi-tech or silicone-coated, each with different properties (warmth, light weight, elasticity, etc.). The salopettes BIB 900 are also equipped with WARMSEAT technology which improves insulation for the buttocks by 54% when sitting in the snow.
How should I dress to avoid getting cold in the mountains?
To keep your legs warm and dry, 2 layers of clothing are enough:
- 1 ski base layer to wick away perspiration.
- 1 ski trouser to protect against bad weather and provide warmth.
How can I stop snow from getting in my salopettes?
Our salopettes and trousers have elasticated gaiters which can be adjusted around the boots. If you fall or are in fresh snow, the seal keeps the snow out.
How do I wash my salopettes?
To optimise the performance and robustness of your trousers, we recommend:
* Machine wash at 30°, synthetic programme.
* Turn the product inside out.
* Add a small amount of detergent. No softener.
* We recommend you wring it by hand.
* Dry on a hanger in a warm, well-ventilated place.
Do not dry clean. Do not place on a radiator.
You can restore the water resistance of the outer fabric using a fabric waterproofing spray. Read the care label.
