A word from the product manager
We have redesigned our Decathlon kids’ snowboard boots to make them more suitable for young riders. These boots are linerless, i.e. they have no insole, which means that it only needs one tightening mechanism: it's more convenient for kids and their parents. For greater comfort, we have also made the boot lighter.On the 500 model, we wanted more performance because from 8/10 years it is no longer rare to find children who ride fast and well :-)
habu® Fit System tightening mechanism
The habu® fItsystem combines three important technical elements to transform the snowboard experience:
1) the innovative innovative wheel ensures micro-adjustment and precision,
2) the habu® cable is light, but very durable with 75 stainless steel strands.
3) low friction habu® guides ensure uniform pressure distribution whilst minimising wear and long lifespan.
How does the habu® Fit System work?
It is a very powerful cable clamp. Simply turn the wheel to tighten. Effortlessly, you powerfully tighten your shoe. Turn the dial and the tightener opens, enabling you to easily open the tongue.
Boot flex/stiffness
The flex rating of the INDY 500 is medium (4/10). They are aimed at children who hold a bend at high speed (requiring a stiff shoe) while allowing them to remain responsive through small turns or surprise bumps that require quick leg flex-extension. The flex and heel support are both superior to the INDY 300 boot.
Ergonomic Heel Pad ankle foam
The ankle bone padding fills the hollow under and behind the ankle to hold the heel firmly in place. The level 2 liner contains a foam made in exclusive Wedze material and shape: - the shape is based on an average of 40 foot scans. It is ideal for securing the foot in place and can be adapted to everyone.
- the material: a soft but firm elastomer foam. When your child puts on this boot, they will instantly feel the support. And when they are riding, they won’t feel any hard spots.
Sole: grip, traction, cushioning and thermal insulation
Our Ultralight sole is 100% EVA. EVA is a very light material that is made up of 80% air. This formula is designed to resist abrasion while retaining its cushioning properties. It is naturally very insulating and protects against the cold rising from the ground. We included large studs in the design to provide very good grip. Sufficiently far apart from each other, they help get rid of the snow.

At the end of the day, remove the insole from the liner so that it can dry completely overnight.

All Snowboard by Decathlon products are tested under the actual conditions of use for which they were designed. Under the snow, in the cold, in all weather conditions when snowboarding on powder, in the snowpark, or on the runs. Our design teams, product managers, engineers and pattern makers ensure the product's design corresponds perfectly to its real-world use.
