BACKBONE
Magnesium piece that connects the upper collar to the base of the shell, for a rear support that improves rebound on exiting turns (rebound effect) and delivers gradual yet powerful forward flex. The best for freeride and freestyle use.
HIKE & RIDE TECHNOLOGY
Patented system that combines the unlocking of the backbone and the specific V-shape at the back of the shell base. It fully opens up the back of the collar in running mode (unlocked backbone) and delivers a genuine alpine flex (locked backbone) when going downhill because the rear of the backbone fits perfectly with the V-shaped shell base.

WHAT IS THE FLEX?
To provide an indication of boot rigidity, brands assign a flex rating to every boot. This figure determines the rigidity of the whole boot: the higher its value, the stiffer the shell. As a rule of thumb:
It is generally considered that a flex of 60 is for average to intermediate level skiers.
A flex from 65 to 75 is for intermediate skiers.
Beyond 75, the products are aimed at advanced skiers.
Well-built skiers can go up one level.
HOW TO TRY ON SKI BOOTS?
Once your foot is in the boot, fasten the buckles to the midpoint. Can you go further? This means the volume of the boot isn't right for you. Once you've fastened your boots, you need to flex 3 times while pushing your calves forward (put your hands on your knees), which will push your heel back into the boot. Stand up: your foot should touch the end of the shell. When you flex, your foot should move backwards so you can no longer feel the end.
HOW TO MAKE MY SKI BOOTS MORE COMFORTABLE?
There are many options for making your foot more comfortable in a ski boot. A ski boot must be tight fitting. To improve the support, you can get soles that are tailored to the shape of your foot arch, volume reducers and heel boosters.
HOW TO AVOID HAVING COLD FEET?
Although it is often forgotten, drying the liner is the most effective way to avoid having cold feet. Even at -10°C, the foot sweats and the liner cannot dry by itself in its plastic shell, even over several days. Ideally, you should remove it every day. There is the option to use boot dryers that are more convenient because there is no need to remove the liner, you just plug them in!
