XCR UCI / XCR TRIATHLON: WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE
The XCR Tri offers a riding position that meets the needs of triathletes, with the possibility of maximising adjustment lengths and adjustment widths thanks to an attachment plate as well as extensions and specific triathlon arm rests. The Tri frame also includes a toolbox and a bento box.The XCR BIKE has been designed to meet the UCI standards and therefore especially the position adjustments on the steering position (depth and width)
XCR FRAME - A BEAST ON WHEELS!
The XCR frame is a high-modulus carbon frame that meets the demands of the highest-level cyclists.
The best carbon fibres have been selected and assembled to combine propulsion and low weight.
It was designed with Swiss Side, whose expertise in aerodynamics allowed it to look for every opportunity for optimisation with no compromises.
Denis Chevrot, double European Ironman champion, rides an XCR contributed to its development.
ADJUSTABLE COCKPIT
The right position is an essential factor in performance, particularly when it comes to long-distance triathlons.
We've designed a cockpit that allows for multiple adjustments: Height, width, depth and angle with different elements such as the extension support platform and the different spacers (20 to 95 mm in height, 0° to 30° angle). We designed the extensions to combine maximum adjustment whilst ensuring perfect ergonomics.
Shimano ULTEGRA Di2 groupset
We've chosen the CLM Triathlon Shimano Ultegra Di2 8170 groupset for its efficiency and reliability:
Shimano Dura Ace ST-R9180 left lever
Shimano Dura Ace ST-R9180 right lever
Pair of SW-R9160 buttons
Ultegra R8170 Hydraulic brake calipers
Ultegra FD-R8150 front derailleur
Ultegra RD-R8150 12-speed rear derailleur
R8170 11-34 12-speed cassette
R8170 52x36 bottom bracket
Crank sizes:
XS/S 170 mm
M/L 172.5 mm
XL 175 mm
Inpeak power sensor.
We chose INPEAK sensors for their reliability and excellent accuracy.
In this case, the Inpeak Powercrank-E single (left crank)
SWISS SIDE WHEELS / MICHELIN TYRES
The Swiss Side wheels are among the fastest on the market, and it makes complete sense that we chose the Hadron² Classic models, which are a gold standard in aerodynamics.
Front wheel: HADRON² Ultimate 625
Rear wheel: HADRON² Ultimate 800
With more economical DT Swiss spokes and hubs, the HADRON² Classic are the highest performance wheels.
Michelin Power Cup Tubeless ready 700x25 tyres
Recommended pressure: 5 - 8 bars
Max. tyre width: 30mm
WARNING AND ADJUSTMENT
Please note: never squeeze the brakes without a wheel being attached, as you could get the brake pads stuck together.
If the rotor is touching the pads, here's how to realign the wheel and caliper:
- Loosen the wheel axle
- Brake hard and tighten the axle at the same time
- If the rotor is still touching the brakes, do the same thing and loosen the caliper
- If you're unable to resolve the issue, please visit one of our workshops.
BEDDING IN PROCEDURE
Bed in your brakes on a flat, dry road with no obstacles. It's important to alternate between the front and rear brakes, and to work through the following steps:
Step 1: Ride at 15 km/h and gradually brake to slow yourself to 5 km/h, 10 times in a row.
Step 2: Ride at 20 km/h and gradually brake to slow yourself to 5 km/h, 10 times in a row.
Step 3: Ride at 25 km/h and gradually brake to slow yourself to 5 km/h, 10 times in a row.
Between each step, release and ride for a few dozen metres.
CARE ADVICE
Please note that it is important to regularly service your drive train, especially if you ride in difficult conditions (wet and/or dirty roads).
Regular maintenance will help your drive train to last for longer.
You should regularly check your chain with our chain wear indicator,
which is available on our website.
Which size?
Please refer to the bike frame geometry table.
Ideally, we recommend doing a postural study in order to make the most of your bike's performance.
If you're between sizes, a shorter bike is better if you want something more responsive and lively. However, if you want to be comfortable when riding long distances, the bigger size is your best bet.
