Fresh technology for greater freshness in your tent
Fresh is a Decathlon patented technology that reflects the sun’s rays.
By doing so, we reduce the feeling of warmth in your tent.
To get the most out of this technology, don't forget to ventilate your tent at night!
Sun protection
Our Fresh technology relies on a UPF 50+ sun protection fabric.
Caution: be careful, as a large amount of UV rays can get in through a simple open door.
Ventilation
For maximum ventilation, a large section of the bedroom is mesh and includes 1 open vent on the door. The flysheet is very easy to remove for sleeping under the stars on summer nights.
Please note the mesh fabric is not waterproof.
Wind resistance
We test all our tents in a wind tunnel on a turntable. The aim is to expose each side of our tent to the same wind intensity.
Properly pitched, with the guy ropes deployed, this tent remains habitable in wind speed 6, measured at 50 km/h.
Waterproofing
We test our tents to validate their waterproofing. The first test is done in the laboratory for 3 hours under 200 litres of water per hour per sqm, the equivalent of 200 mm tropical rain per hour. The second test is done in the field under real-life conditions by our teams. This tent is fitted with a 2 000 mm polyurethane-coated polyester flysheet. It also has seams that have been waterproofed with heat-sealed strips, and a 140 g/sqm polyethylene groundsheet.
Repair
As designers and practitioners who love our playground, we care about the durability of our products. That's why all our tents are designed to be repairable. Spare parts and repairs for inflatable hoops are available at the workshop of your Decathlon store or on our website.
Poles and tent pegs
Tent poles:
- All our poles are made from fibreglass and undergo double quality checks. This guarantees some of the best resistance against breakage.
Tent pegs:
- All our pegs are made of steel and have a diameter of 6 mm.
- 4 hard ground pegs included.
Maintenance advice
Our camping tents have been designed for occasional outdoor use (4 weeks per year) when camping or in the great outdoors. Continued exposure to UV rays over several weeks can damage the fabric. These products are not classified as “garden furniture” and aren’t designed to be left outdoors permanently. To guarantee maximum durability of your tent, it's important to store it when not in use.
