A clever top of the range
This 900 men's ski jacket is designed for all skiers.
Thanks to its many features:
- No more cream-stained collars, thanks to the removable collar that you can wash . Its presence (or not) will also make it possible to adjust the width of the collar, to adapt to every body shape.
- On the sleeves, an integrated cuff protects you from air inlets, and a double slider zip gives you access to your watch with one movement, or ventilates your jacket.
A single component:
The component of this jacket is light, elastic and super waterproof.
This jacket will therefore perfectly adapt to your body shape: elegant and close-fitting.
A hood that goes over the helmet, but not just that!
A hood that has a generous enough volume to fit over the helmet, and still looks great when worn with a beanie? This is possible, thanks to the press-stud system located on the back of the hood and the fasteners located on the front of the hood.
And then another option, if you are not a fan of hoods, is to simply remove it using its press-stud system.
A technical lining
The interior of the product has been magnified using an ultrasonic assembly process, between the wadding and the lining. Result: a seam-free visual effect which is very harmonious and refined.
This jacket is not the warmest in our range, but it is the most technical. With each person having the freedom to match the warmth to their own physiology.
How to dress to stay warm on the slopes?
To keep warm and dry, use the 3-breathable-layers rule: Layer 1 or second skin, to stay dry. Layer 2 or an insulating layer, to keep the heat in. Layer 3 or a protective layer, to protect against bad weather.
How is comfortable temperature measured?
We lab-test each of our products so that we can provide you with a indicative value on the item's comfort. This comfort indicator is measured without tights for trousers, and with a thermal t-shirt and a fleece for jackets. The measurement indicated is that of the external temperature in which the testers are neither warm, nor cold. Of course, this perceived temperature varies in line with the intensity of the activity and the metabolism of the individual.
How is waterproofing of the fabric measured?
The resistance of a fabric is measured by the height of a water column in mm that can be supported by the fabric (test based on the ISO 811 standard). The higher the pressure, the more waterproof the fabric. The fabric of the 900 men's jacket has a waterproof rating of 20,000mm and therefore resists the pressure exerted by 20,000mm of water.
For skiing, we recommend components between 3000 mm and 20,000 mm.
How is the water resistance of a jacket measured?
To go beyond an indicative value of waterproofing, at Decathlon we test all our waterproof products in the laboratory. How do we carry out this test? We have an articulated model that wears the jacket and then spends a few hours under a shower.
With this test, we can say that this jacket provides storm protection, i.e. 24cm of water in 4 hours.
