An item from the Kimjaly Premium collection
This autumn, Decathlon's Kimjaly brand is launching a new range of technical, responsibly designed products that have been specially created for advanced yogis.
The Premium collection was born of the desire to offer more specialist products targeted at responsible, engaged, demanding users who want that sense of belonging to a yoga community.
The responsibly designed Kimjaly Premium collection
At Kimjaly, our design teams see responsible design as a cornerstone of our yoga offer. In 2023, more than 85% of our total collection will be responsibly designed.
For the Premium collection, we've taken things one step further and reduced our environmental footprint even more.
Certain items have been manufactured in Portugal. And for certain mats, we've picked innovative recycled materials.
The technical, durable Kimjaly Premium collection
Giving yogis what they need is what drives the Premium collection. The Kimjaly team's top priority was to create that second-skin feel using stretchy yet opaque fabrics, and focusing on the sensory aspect of the products (touch, smell, feel, colours), breathability and support during use. The ultimate aim was to offer a range of long-lasting, technical products approved by testers.
The Kimjaly Premium collection: approved by yoga teachers
The Kimjaly brand has been running workshops and holding other meetings with yoga teachers for several years to find out exactly what advanced yogis need. Our research and design team carefully considers all of their hopes and expectations, before combining them to create the Premium collection.
The Kimjaly Premium collection, from the office to the studio
Our design team has created the Premium collection's colours, textures, shapes and style to work "from the office to the studio".
Having chatted to our community of advanced yogis, their needs were clear and simple: being able to wear their yoga kit all day, from the office to the studio.
Our outfits have therefore been designed for a yoga-based lifestyle. The leggings look right at home in the workplace. The crop top can be worn under a blazer in the evening.
The Kimjaly Premium collection: partly made in Europe
The Kimjaly design and supply chain teams worked hand in hand to be able to manufacture certain Premium collection products in Europe, which offers numerous human, environmental and economic advantages. This means that they cost more to manufacture than the average yoga product, which means higher costs on the shelves.
We know we're not perfect. There's a long way to go before we can manufacture more products in Europe. But we're getting there step by step.
A rating to compare the environmental impact of products
The environmental impacts of the product are calculated across its entire lifecycle and using various indicators. An overall rating (ABCDE) is given, allowing you to easily identify products with the best environmental performance by comparing similar products to each other (T-shirts, bottoms, backpacks etc.).
Decathlon actively promotes this visible environmental rating policy.
