How can I be sure of the strength and durability of my trousers?
Our snowboard trousers are guaranteed for 5 years. We offer repairs locally if your trousers are damaged. Contact us on our website to find out more about how to get your product repaired.
We take particular care in choosing all the elements and assembly processes that make up our ski and snowboard trousers so they are as durable as possible.
Can I be sure my men's snowboard trousers will protect me in bad weather?
To withstand bad weather (rain, snow, wind, etc.), these trousers have been designed with a waterproof component and assembly processes that keep the water out and reduce wind chill. We have spent a few days snowboarding and carried out tests over long periods, in all conditions, to validate the waterproofing of the product.
Why are my trousers water repellent?
The water-repellent feature makes water run off the fabric without seeping in thanks to a treatment applied to its outer surface. The fabric does not soak up water and stays light and warm. This treatment must be renewed during the life of the product, after 2 to 3 washes on average, using the products available in our stores. All the waterproof trousers that we design for snowboarders are water-repellent.
Water often gets in through the seams. Do my trousers have waterproof seams?
As well as the waterproof fabric, we enhance the waterproofing of the trousers with taped seams. These are heat-bonded waterproof strips placed on the seams inside the clothing to make it perfectly watertight. All seams are taped on the entire skiing outfit?
How do my trousers keep me warm?
To keep you warm, we use faux-down wadding insulation. Wadding is a synthetic component made from polyester which stores more or less air, depending on the length of the fibres. Wadding can be standard, hi-tech or silicone-coated, each with different properties (warmth, light weight, elasticity, etc.). The Snowboard 500 trousers also come with WARM SEAT technology which improves the insulation on the seat by 54% when sitting in the snow.
What is a membrane and what's it for?
A membrane is an extremely thin component (between 5 and 25 micrometres) applied to the internal surface of a textile substrate to give it excellent waterproof and breathable capabilities. Our membrane components stop water getting inside while allowing the water vapour generated by your body to pass through, when snowboarding.
How should you wash your trousers?
To optimise the performance and durability of your trousers, we recommend:
* Machine wash at 30°, synthetic programme.
* Turn the product inside out.
* Add a small amount of detergent. No softener.
* We recommend you wring it by hand.
* Dry on a hanger in a warm, well-ventilated place.
Do not dry clean. Do not place on a radiator.
You can restore the water resistance of the outer fabric using a fabric waterproofing spray. Read the care label.
How should I dress to avoid getting cold in the mountains?
In order to keep warm and dry, we recommend using the 3-layer rule. The principle is simple: wear 3 layers of clothing, which each have a specific function. Your base layer must produce and retain warmth. Your protective shorts keep you warm (and protect you from knocks), whereas the jacket protects you from the weather. All these layers should be breathable to wick away moisture.
How can I prevent snow from getting into my trousers?
The trousers have elasticated gaiters at the ankles to cover the boots. If you fall or come into contact with fresh snow, the seal created by the gaiter keeps the snow out.
