Design & style
The design of this bridle puts a priority on the horse's anatomical needs. It was specifically designed to fit your horse and keep it relaxed when working. This model is elegant and sophisticated, with a rhinestone brow band and wide, shiny noseband.
Anatomic design: Bridge head piece
The neck is generally subject to pressure from the bridle head piece as well as from the rider's contact with the cheekpieces. To avoid this, we created a head piece that frees up the back of the head and the cervical vertebrae. The bridge design includes two soft foam pads on either side of the neck.
Anatomic design: Head piece & brow band
The lower part of the head piece is preformed to free the back of the ears, a very sensitive area, which in turn helps relax the horse's mouth. Similarly, we designed the brow band with small fittings on the lower part of the head piece to avoid pressure on the top of the brow and temples.
Anatomic design: Nose band
The back of the noseband has two D-rings so the lower section can move into place to fit your horse's head. The noseband is fully removable to make it easy to put on and take off.The noseband loop tucks into the noseband. That way, when you're not using the noseband, the loop won't be visible.
Throatlash design
The noseband buckle lies under the cheeks to reduce the number of buckles near sensitive areas on the horse's head. It won't bother your horse at all at the back.
Reduced chafing
High-pressure areas are lined with soft foam padding to improve the horse's comfort. You will find this thin padding on the head piece (with care given to the area behind the ears), noseband and pull back.
Rein combinations
This bridle is sold without reins so you can choose the level of grip and feel you need. Our catalogue includes: snaffle reins in smooth leather, snaffle reins in smooth leather with grip on the underside, and reins in webbing with stops. You can choose the level of grip and feel you need.
Sizing
The Dressage Bridle 900 is available in two sizes: Cob (CS) and horse (FS). CS is suitable for small-headed horses and section C and D ponies. FS is suitable for most saddle horses.
Adjustment
Because the noseband lining is thick and soft, it may take some time to fit the shape of your horse's head. It's normal for it to be a bit rigid at first. It will soften up over time.
Our tips for checking your bridle adjustment
Check the adjustment of your bridle by doing the following. You can slip a finger between the horse's face and brow band to check if it is too tight and pressing against any sensitive areas. You can then slip a finger between the head piece and back of the ears to check if it is pressing too tightly against the ears. During the first few uses, remember to check for signs of the bridle chafing your horse's head.
Our tips for adjusting your noseband
The noseband adjustment has a strong influence on how relaxed your horse is. We recommend that you slip a finger between the horse's face and the noseband and two fingers between the noseband and the cheeks. If you have any doubts about how to adjust it, seek professional help. A noseband is not always necessary depending on the horse's needs. The noseband on the Dressage Bridle 900 can easily be removed without any empty loops showing.
Care advice
To keep your bridle in good condition, we recommend cleaning it regularly with glycerine soap applied using a sponge dampened with lukewarm water. You can then hydrate your leather with grease applied using a household or special leather cloth. If you feel that the leather is rough and dry, you can also use a moisturising conditioner that will nourish your leather.
