A word from the product manager
This is the first Wedze ski boot for kids with adjustable sizing. We have looked for the best compromise between foot support and comfort so that young skiers can concentrate fully on learning to ski without the risk of wearing poor fitting ski boots.
How do you adjust your Pumzi boot?
1/ Put the boot on the child.
2/ Inflate the adjustment system by pressing the plus (+) button 20 times.
3 / Lock the bottom buckle halfway (2nd or 3rd buckle), then tighten the top buckle as much as is needed.
4/ Ask your child how it feels: if it's OK, then you're ready to ski. If it feels too tight, you can loosen it by pressing briefly on the minus (-) button. You can repeat the process 3 times.
Opening/closing mechanism
The 2 buckles and 4 positions give accurate and quick adjustment. The inflatable system offers good foot support in the boot. We recommend that the liner is inflated before closing the buckles in order to obtain the best possible support.
Environment
Our liners are made with phthalate-free plastics.
What is flex?
To provide an indication of rigidity, brands assign a flex rating to every boot. This figure indicates the rigidity of the whole boot: the higher the figure, the stiffer the shell. A flex of 40 is considered ideal for managing the children’s progress.
Tip for putting boots on
To put boots on more easily, pull the tongue towards the exterior (not straight in front of you), so you open the shells as much as possible which makes putting your foot in easier.
What’s your child’s shoe size?
The size of ski boots is stated in Mondopoint size. It’s actually the length of the foot in cm.
Wedge your heels along a wall, slide a sheet of paper underneath, flex and measure the longest foot.
For example, if your foot measures 27.2 cm, you should choose size 27/27.5.
A size 27 shoe is exactly the same as a 27.5
How to try on ski boots?
Once your foot is in the boot, fasten the hook to the midpoint. If your kid can go further, this means that the boot size is not right for them. Once the boot is fastened, lean forward so that the heel moves to the back of the boot. Standing upright, they should be able to brush the front of the shell. When you flex, your foot should move backwards so you can no longer feel the end.Tip: Remove the liner from the shell and put the kid's foot in to check it.
