How can I be sure my jacket will give me proper protection in bad weather?
The Slide 700 jacket was developed with a sophisticated component and assembly to prevent water from entering and reduce wind chill, in order to cope with bad weather (rain, snow, wind, etc.). To check that it is waterproof, this jacket was placed in a special shower reproducing the conditions a skier has to cope with. We approved this product's waterproofing by skiing in different weather conditions for several days.
What is the point of the water repellent property of my jacket?
Water repellent fabric allows water to run off its surface without seeping in. The Slide 700 jacket is made from water resistant materials to prolong its resistance to bad weather. It's an additional technical solution to keep you dry for as long as possible throughout the day. You will need to regularly renew this treatment, using products sold in our stores, to maintain this protection.
"Coated" jacket: what are the advantages of this coating?
The membrane is a very fine component applied to the inner surface of the outer fabric. This hydrophilic component prevents water from seeping in while wicking away perspiration. The membrane is unbeatable when it comes to staying warm and dry.
Water often gets in through the seams. Does my jacket have taped seams?
In addition to the waterproof fabric, we have enhanced the waterproofing of the Slide 700 jacket with taped seams. These are adhesive waterproof strips stuck behind the seams making the garment waterproof. These taped seams are located on the areas most exposed to snow, such as the shoulders and chest.
What is a membrane and what's it for?
The membrane is a very thin component applied to the inner surface of the outer fabric. This hydrophilic component prevents water from seeping in while wicking away the perspiration generated by the body. The membrane is a key component for staying warm and dry.
How will my ski jacket keep me warm?
We use wadding for insulation to help keep you warm. This polyester-based synthetic material traps air, the quantity of which will depend on the size of the fibres. Wadding can be standard, high-tech or siliconised, each with different properties: warmth, lightness, flexibility, etc.
What is a "breathable" jacket?
It is a product that lets the water vapour produced by the body during exercise escape, keeping you dry. To see if a fabric is breathable, we measure its resistance to evaporative heat (RET) in a standardised ISO 11092 test. The lower the RET, the more breathable the fabric. Wed'ze uses high-tech materials and solutions (zips, ventilation, mesh) that help prevent condensation inside the garment. Slide 500 component RET: less than 12.
How should I dress to avoid feeling cold on the slopes?
To keep warm and dry, use the 3-breathable-layers rule: 1 ski base layer and 1 under-jacket for keeping warm, 1 ski jacket to protect you from bad weather.
How can I prevent snow from getting in when I fall?
The snow skirt is a protection system at waist level that closes with press studs at the bottom of the ski or snowboard jacket. It prevents snow and air from entering during practice and especially in the case of a fall.
Where can I put my ski pass when taking the ski lifts?
You no longer need to get your ski pass out because your sleeve has a ski pass pocket to allow you to access the cable cars quickly.
What is the RECCO system?
100% of our Freeride and All Mountain trousers and jackets are equipped with the RECCO system.
With the RECCO® technology, you can be located in the event of an avalanche. Someone who is equipped with RECCO® reflectors and is buried in the snow can be quickly and accurately located by the emergency services using the RECCO® tracker. RECCO reflectors are not a substitute for an avalanche beacon. The RECCO technology has a complementary function, increasing the chances of being found in time.
